Permaculture Design
What is Permaculture?
Permaculture is a broad term that encompasses a different way of thinking and an age-old philosophy around how we approach working with the land. It is largely recognized as a method by which we as humans steward our spaces and help to create regenerative systems that sustain and support themselves. One of the cornerstones of permaculture practices is that it must meet three criteria: 1) must be good for the environment, 2) must be good for the community, and 3) must be good for the individual. The term comes from the joining of the words “permanent” + “agriculture”, and are a set of practices and guidelines that allow us to capture and reuse natural resources to create a symbiotic relationship between us and the natural world.
Have you dreamed of a more self-sustainable lifestyle? Growing your own food? Having a positive impact on the environment? Are you willing to let go of the 1950’s way of manicuring a perfect lawn and imagine your space in a totally new way? Permaculture might be just the thing you’ve been searching for!
We specifically seek out clients willing and open to new ideas about transitioning out of an antiquated way of imagining their space. To us, being natural and sustainable means thinking outside of the box and creating systems that mimic patterns in nature. True sustainability fosters an environment for biodiversity, and allows us to live in harmony with the natural world, instead of fighting with it…free from harmful pesticides, fertilizers, and harsh chemicals. Permaculture shows us a way and a method to live in harmony with our landscape, and bonus… it can also be incredibly beautiful!
